Texas Butterfly Monitoring Network

Started in 2018, Kathryn Hokamp spearheaded a Texas Butterfly Monitoring Network run out of the Houston Museum of Natural Science to both establish new butterfly surveys and pull in existing butterfly monitoring efforts across the state. It was an extremely successful inaugural season with approximately 30 routes established and monitored by approximately 40 citizen scientists. In 2019, Kathryn moved to Colorado and Master Naturalist Irmi Wilcockson took the helm, and, with the help of Rebecca Leininger, expanded the program to over 100 survey routes.
